Ryan Burford

Ryan Burford

After leaving Sheffield University in 1999, Ryan trained as an accountant in a small firm in Tunbridge Wells.  On qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2002 he left to join Saffery Champness, a top 20 firm in London where he remained in the Private Wealth and Estates Group for four and a half years, predominantly auditing small and medium sized businesses owned by high net worth individuals and entrepreneurs.

During his time at Saffery Champness, Ryan sat his Chartered Tax Advisors' exams and gained the CTA qualification in 2007.  Following this, Ryan embarked on a tax career by joining Ernst & Young where he advised owners and employees of owner managed businesses on the personal taxation issues of management buy-outs and sales to third parties.

It was during Ryan's time at Ernst & Young that he realised he was missing the client interaction and the trusted advisor relationship that he enjoyed with clients at both Saffery Champness and the firm in Tunbridge Wells that he initially trained with.

As such Ryan joined Warrener Stewart in August 2008 having been drawn to an ethos that matched his own personal goals of achieving and maintaining a strong and trusted relationship with a growing client base.  Ryan has a portfolio of personal tax clients as well as looking after the corporation tax compliance of companies owned by those individuals.  Ryan also looks after the corporation tax compliance on a number of larger companies and groups throughout the firm.

Ryan's interests outside the heady world of tax involve watching as much rugby as possible (preferably Northampton Saints), reading, music and socialising.
