Jerry Broers has led Warrener Stewart’s tax department since joining the firm in 1994. Jerry studied Accountancy at the University of Kent, qualified in 1982 and moved into the specialised area of tax. He had always been sure that a career advising individuals and businesses would combine the intellectual challenge and personal interest he was looking for. Experience at a number of small accountancy practices and at Arthur Andersen enabled him to build up a wide range of expertise and additional qualifications.

Married with three children, Jerry enjoys family life and keeping fit. Playing cricket in the summer is a highlight, particularly since his son now plays for the same team.

Since 1994 the tax department has grown steadily in size and reputation. It combines a caring attitude to the problems taxation can pose, with the technical knowledge needed in this rapidly changing area. Every transaction has its own unique taxation angle and the department is ideally placed to deal with these. Leading a team of highly qualified, motivated people is a pleasure and a challenge that Jerry thoroughly enjoys.

The current team are able to offer excellent support to the other departments and the wider client base. Consultancy and advice as well as standard compliance work will help clients develop their businesses and realise their ambitions tax efficiently. Jerry knows that he and his department will go the extra mile to help and support all their clients. This care and commitment will continue to develop the tax department and Warrener Stewart as a firm.
