What I most enjoy about my role at Warrener Stewart is the technical challenge of turning seemingly incomprehensible data into something useful and providing clarity for my clients.

Emma joined Warrener Stewart in October 2022, initially to provide senior support to cover maternity leave and, soon after, she was offered a full-time management role. She works predominantly with clients who are either US citizens, or green card holders based in the UK, to prepare and submit their US tax returns. She also works with UK-based clients with specific international requirements requiring her expertise.

She enjoys the technical challenge of her role, turning seemingly incomprehensible data into something useful and providing clarity for her clients. She sometimes works with people with US links who are unaware that they needed to file a US tax return, using her expertise to get things sorted and put their minds at rest. Being dual qualified (UK and US Tax) she enjoys helping clients take a holistic view of their accounts, pointing out different filing requirements for the two jurisdictions and any potential overlapping issues, in order to help them plan the best way forward.

Emma particularly appreciates the collaborative culture at Warrener Stewart. Although her role has evolved significantly over the past year, she has always felt fully supported by her manager colleagues who are available to offer support and technical advice, if ever required.

Originally from Glasgow, Emma has an MA (hons) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Edinburgh. Her degree included working in Austin, Texas for a year which consolidated her interest in US tax. She now lives in London and, when not at work, enjoys writing about films including covering the London Film Festival as a semi-professional film journalist.
