Having completed my training at PwC I wanted to work with businesses where my advice would have a direct impact on the performance of small businesses

Since James joined Warrener Stewart as a qualified accountant in 2016, he has progressed from Assistant Manager to Manager in just two and a half years.

Whilst at PwC James became ACCA qualified, working in their Guernsey office, where he predominately worked in the financial sector. He has a wealth of experience to draw on, having worked across different industries and clients. This has given him valuable insight into a variety of operating methods and business processes.

In his current role at Warrener Stewart, James splits his time between overseeing audit work for new clients in their first year of audit and managing a growing portfolio of small owner-managed businesses. Not only is he the key point of contact, his role is to provide advice and manage all aspects of a client’s affairs.

James enjoys helping his clients make informed business decisions by assisting them in the preparation of their company accounts, putting together VAT returns and coordinating tax and forward planning.

Since using technology effectively is increasingly important to businesses’ finances, James helps clients to choose the best cloud-based software to support their business accounting.  He then works with them to automate their book keeping function and, where necessary, help them comply with the new ‘making tax digital’ initiative.

“For the past 20 years Warrener Stewart has consistently given good advice... going above and beyond their remit.”
