Counting on making a difference at Warrener Stewart
It was the lure of auditing that led part qualified ACCA accountant student Thandie Sambana to join Warrener Stewart.
Having started her accountancy training with a small two partner firm advising many self-employed clients, Thandie wanted to broaden her experience and work more closely with SME’s. When an opportunity arose to continue her training to become a Certified Accountant with Fulham based accountants, Warrener Stewart, who specialise in advising owner managed companies, she leapt at the chance.
“From my studies and work experience one of the aspects of studying to be an accountant that I found really rewarding is auditing,” says Thandie. “Joining Warrener Stewart gives me the opportunity to be able to assist on more audits and to use my analytical skills.”
As registered auditors Warrener Stewart regularly audit medium sized companies whose turnover exceeds the new audit thresholds. Audit and accounts assistants like Thandie will work alongside an audit manager to help source information and prepare the accounts, before they are reviewed by one of the Principals.
Commenting on Thandie’s appointment, Colin Edney said: “Despite the change to the auditing thresholds we still carry out many audits and we need inquisitive people like Thandie. We feel there is great value to be gained from the rigour of auditing allowing us to provide assurance to clients about their businesses.”
