Warrener Stewart celebrates 40th Anniversary
Back in 1983 Microsoft released Word, Motorola launched its first mobile phones in the US, the first Apple Macintosh went on sale in the UK, and Chartered Accountant Peter Warrener went into partnership with Danielle Stewart to create a new firm of chartered accountants in South-East London, Warrener Stewart. His intention was to provide a highly professional, yet affordable, accountancy service to the local business community, a need he had identified as sadly lacking.
Forty years on and the business has relocated to Fulham, significantly expanded in size and is a highly regarded and successful chartered accountancy practice. Importantly, in keeping with Peter Warrener’s original vision, the business has remained true to its founding principles of providing excellent standards of professional and personal service to now meet the needs of local, national and international clients and their businesses.
Warrener Stewart now covers all aspects of audit accountancy and business advice, as well as UK and US tax services, and has opened a second office, based in Edinburgh. The firm prides itself on providing clients with intelligent business advice that helps them achieve their business goals. It currently employs fifty staff and has served over 6,500 clients over the past four decades.
Managing Director Colin Edney, who has been involved in the management of the practice for the past 15 years, says: “The practice has grown enormously since its foundation on the 2nd February 1983. As a director, and one of the longest serving employees, I am extremely proud both of our team and the excellent client base that we have built. These are exciting times for the business, our growth looks set to continue and we are confidently optimistic about the future, so here’s to the next forty years.”
