Warrener Stewart expands north of the border

01 April 2020 • Warrener Stewart, Warrener Stewart Edinburgh

After ten years of London life, Scottish born tax specialist Stuart Barbour yearned for the open spaces and rugged mountains of his homeland. Rather than leave Warrener Stewart the answer was to open a new office run by Stuart in Edinburgh.

As a corporate tax specialist Stuart has been supporting Warrener Stewart’s larger clients for the past five years working alongside Colin Edney and other corporate partners. Much of his work revolves around reviewing tax efficiencies within companies, assessing their structure or methods of trading. Since much of this is office-based Colin and the other partners were happy for Stuart to relocate to Scotland.

“Stuart is such an important asset to the business that we didn’t want to lose him,” declares Colin. The new office is on George Street, which as Stuart notes, is a quieter part of the busy Edinburgh city centre.

Stuart has now been joined by fellow Tax Advisor Jonny Henry, pictured above on the left, who started work in the new office this month.

“It’s been great to come back home” says Stuart. “I’m currently still focused on corporate tax, but the hope is that with Jonny joining me and with room for one more in the Edinburgh office we can move to a full tax and general offering in the near future.”

“they have helped me make informed judgments at every twist and turn and offer incredible value.”
