“Having trained with PwC, I wanted to work with businesses where my advice would have a direct impact.”

James joined Warrener Stewart as a qualified accountant in 2016 and has progressed rapidly through the firm, moving from Assistant Manager to Manager within two and a half years, before becoming an Associate and, most recently, Director.

Prior to joining Warrener Stewart, James trained with PwC in Guernsey, where he qualified as an ACCA accountant while working predominantly within the financial services sector. His experience across a broad range of industries and organisations has given him strong technical expertise alongside valuable commercial insight into different business models, governance structures, and operational processes.

As a Director, James specialises in audit and assurance, working with large corporate groups and complex businesses, including organisations with turnovers in excess of £300 million. He works closely with senior management teams to deliver efficient, high-quality audits and commercially focused advice.

Alongside his corporate work, James continues to advise a portfolio of owner-managed businesses, supporting clients across financial reporting, business planning, and operational development. He values building long-term relationships with clients and helping them make informed strategic decisions as their businesses grow.

James has also played a key role in improving internal processes across the firm, contributing to operational efficiencies through the implementation of new technologies, structured audit methodologies, and enhanced planning processes. Additionally, he has supported the development of the firm through recruitment initiatives, trainee development, and appraisal systems.

In his role as Director, James is focused on supporting the firm’s continued growth, strengthening client relationships, and helping shape the future direction of Warrener Stewart.
